1. Who we are
My Financial Life is made and published by Mark Hall, trading as Garelochsoft, a sole trader. Contact: support@garelochsoft.com. Postal address: Balquidder, Helensburgh, G84 0EJ.
2. Your licence to use the app
You get My Financial Life from the Microsoft Store. Your right to use the copy you obtain there is granted under the Store’s standard licence: the Standard Application Licence Terms at the end of the Microsoft Services Agreement. Those terms are an agreement between you and us as the app’s publisher, and they govern your copy.
Nothing else grants a licence. The software, its source code and everything that comes with it remain the property of Garelochsoft; you may not copy, modify, distribute or resell it except as those terms allow. Copies of the app’s own licence statement and the notices for the third-party components it includes are in the app, under Settings ▸ About.
3. Purchases, refunds and updates
My Financial Life is a one-time purchase. The sale takes place in the Microsoft Store, and Microsoft handles payment, your licence and installation; we never see your payment details. Refunds are handled by Microsoft under its own terms of sale — see the support page. Updates are delivered through the Store.
Nothing on this page affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
4. Not financial advice
My Financial Life is a tool for recording and viewing your own finances. It does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing it displays — including returns, budgets and loan schedules — should be relied on as such. The figures it shows are derived from what you enter and from optional third-party price and exchange-rate data. Check anything that matters, and take professional advice for decisions that warrant it.
5. Your data
Your data stays in a file on your own PC, which you control (see the privacy policy). Because we never hold a copy, we can’t restore it for you: please keep your own backups of the file.
6. Trade marks
My Financial Life and Garelochsoft, and the associated names and logos, are trade marks of Garelochsoft. Nothing on this site or in the app grants any right to use them. Microsoft, Windows and Microsoft Store are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies. Tiingo and Open Exchange Rates are trademarks of their respective owners.
7. This website
The content of this website (copy, screenshots and design) is © 2026 Mark Hall, trading as Garelochsoft. The screenshots show an invented sample household — no real person’s finances appear anywhere on this site. We try to keep the site accurate, but the Store listing and the app itself are the final word on what the current version does.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
